[Rameau / Noms communs] Marionnettes de taille humaineRésumé : “The Brain” is an experiment in puppet theater exploring the life and science of Albert Einstein. The performance begins with Einstein on an autopsy table. The narrative travels through time and memory focused through the lens of his last act - the signing of the Russell/Einstein Manifesto, a call for nuclear disarmament. The stage is a dreamscape that includes scenes from his life, and his most famous thought experiments that led to the developments of the Special and General Theories of Relativity. The production blends spectacle with technology and an evocative soundscape to take the audience on a journey through one of the century’s greatest minds.
"The nose" : A new adaptation of Nikolai Gogol’s classic short story for puppet theater. In a society built on lechery and deceit - where love is rewarded with lies, and corruption rules the day - one nose has the courage to cut itself off from its face to spite its man and strike out on it’s own.Note de contenu : Extraits de "The brain" (00:15:39) et de "The nose" (00:02:40). [Rameau] Femmes -- MarionnettistesIndex. décimale : 40 Etudes générales Résumé : Women and Puppetry is the first publication dedicated to the study of women in the field of puppetry arts. It includes critical articles and personal accounts that interrogate specific historical moments, cultural contexts, and notions of "woman" on and off stage.
Part I, "Critical Perspective," includes historical and contemporary analyses of women’s roles in society, gender anxiety revealed through the unmarked puppet body, and sexual expression within oppressive social contexts. Part II, "Local Contexts: Challenges and Transformations," investigates work of female practitioners within specific cultural contexts to illuminate how women are intervening in traditionally male spaces. Each chapter in Part II offers brief accounts of specific social histories, barriers, and gender biases that women have faced, and the opportunities afforded female creative leaders to appropriate, revive, and transform performance traditions. And in Part III, "Women Practitioners Speak," contemporary artists reflect on their experiences as female practitioners within the art of puppet theatre.
Representing female writers and practitioners from across the globe, Women and Puppetry offers students and scholars a comprehensive interrogation of the challenges and opportunities that women face in this unique art form.Note de contenu : Index Permalink : https://cataloguedoc.marionnette.com/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=68761 Women and puppetry : critical and historical investigations [Livre(s)] / Alissa Mello, éditeur scientifique ; Claudia Orenstein, éditeur scientifique ; Cariad Astles, éditeur scientifique . - London : Routledge, 2019 . - 1 vol.
